Mental Health Services for Furries
Bring your WHOLE self to therapy!
Do you find comfort in community and fandom spaces? Are you tired of having to explain things like fursonas, fursuiting, or conventions to your therapist?
Many Furries run into misunderstanding, stigma, or misinformation when seeking mental health support. I provide a space where you don’t have to educate your therapist about your community in order to feel understood.
I’ve always been interested in art and animals, and have been an active member and artist within the Furry Fandom since 2021. As I became more involved in the community, I noticed a strong overlap between Furries, LGBTQIA+ folks, and those navigating mental health challenges, but I couldn’t find many therapists who were familiar with or intentionally supportive of the Furry Fandom.
Having a Furry therapist means you rarely have to explain your communities, spaces, and interests, so we can get right down to the important stuff!
Some common reasons people seek me out as a provider:
To explore what being a Furry means to them and how they would like to engage with it
For help with self-confidence and greater authenticity in relationships and spaces
For guidance and support while exploring identities, communities, and/or hobbies
To explore relationships and/or sexuality, especially as they relate to the Fandom
To use a fursona, “vent art,” and/or artistic expression as part of therapy
To talk about totally non-Furry issues, but seeking a Furry and/or queer provider for mutual understanding and connection
While my experience lies primarily within the Furry Fandom, I welcome geeks, cosplayers, artists, gamers, and fandom-members of all kinds! No matter your specific interest, the things we are passionate about can function as important lenses for understanding ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.
I am currently licensed to see clients who are located in Washington, DC or Maryland. If you are located in another state, fear not! I may be able to work with you by the end of 2026. Follow me on Instagram at @YourFurryTherapist, where I will post any and all updates related to licensing and openings.
