Frequently Asked Questions
-
I am currently licensed to see clients who are located in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. Licensing for clients located in Washington state is underway - stay tuned for updates!
-
The short answer is no, not for therapy. However, you can still reach out about a one-time information session where you can ask me any questions you like. These sessions are NOT therapy and cannot be billed through insurance, but may be helpful for those who just want a one-time opportunity to ask questions. Learn more here.
Additionally, while I may not currently be licensed in your state, the Counseling Compact may allow me to practice there soon. Learn more about the Compact in the following question!

The Counseling Compact is a federal initiative which would allow licensed mental health professionals in Compact states to provide services to clients located in any of the signed-on states. The Counseling Compact is currently live in Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wyoming, and 29 additional states have signed on. Once Washington, DC is live and I am approved, I will be able to work with folks located in any other live state. Things are moving slowly, but hopefully I will be able to offer services to more states throughout 2027!

No, I currently do not take any insurance, however, if your insurance plan covers Out Of Network mental health, you may be eligible for reimbursement for my services, and I can provide a monthly SuperBill to facilitate that process.

Yes, however there are limited spots available. Please reach out directly if this is something you need!

Yes! I currently provide a “Furry Mental Health” panel annually at Fur The More, a Furry convention in Baltimore, and hope to provide this service at more cons in the future. I am always happy to speak, whether about Furries, mental health, or both! If you are interested in having me speak to your group or at your event, simply shoot me an email and I’d be glad to chat!

No! I also specialize in work with the LGBTQ+ community, teens, and adults facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity questions, and the general stress of being a modern person. My familiarity with the Furry fandom is simply a bonus, and all it means for you as a non-Furry is that I will encourage your hobbies, niche interests, and “weirdness” in the service of mental health!

I always recommend looking for “queer-friendly” and/or “kink-friendly” therapists in your area, because while they may not have direct experience in the Furry Fandom, they will have the professional familiarity and open-mindedness required for many common “Furry" concerns.
Most therapists offer a free consultation, so take them up on that and use the opportunity to ask about their familiarity with Furries. Even if they don’t know much, if they seem willing to learn and are don’t pathologize your Furry-ness, that’s usually a good sign! -
That is ok! The relationship is the most important part of therapy, so if you already have someone you like, and you’d like them to learn more about Furries (without you being the one to teach them), you can refer them to me! I can provide one-on-one support, perspective, and information so they can ask whatever questions they have, gain some insight, and inform their work with you!
